This letter beyt represents a house, so I used the letter to shape the door frame of a house.

This letter is a picture of a foot, so, I drew it in a foot.

To bring a modern touch to this image, I used the design of a tent I used to own, using the letter to frame the tent’s door.

I wanted to find a way to use the letter’s image of breath, but I didn’t want to use a conventional idea of someone blowing, so I decided to only draw the breath.

It’s a tent peg securing the corner of the tent used in the Dalet image.

I chose to draw the image of the weapon because it felt right to symbolize humanity’s tenancy to fight among itself somewhere in this series.

This letter symbolized divide, so what better representation of divide is there than day and night? The lightning bolt is just to emphasize the difference.

This letter is the image of bend, which I felt would be well represented by a bent pipe on a worktable.

It’s a shepherd staff.  Everyone’s heard of the story of Moshe Rabbeinu.  It’s self-explanatory.

The idea to incorporate water, blood and chaos in the same image crossed my mind; which is what I drew.

I wanted to be as literal as possible, so I drew an open mouth blowing. Also, the final form is the edge of a cliff.

One of this letter’s meanings is snare, so I drew it as a vital part of a box trap, waiting to snare a mouse, Hence the queso.

It’s crossed sticks, which make a sign!  Not really sure what the sign is….but it’s a sign for something.

Trevor Jones inspiration of An Illustrated Guide To The Hebrew Alphabet began with the love of learning different languages. Trevor’s decided to draw the Hebrew Alphabet, this project was completed three years later; 2016 – 2019.

In 2020 The Illustrated Guide To The Hebrew Alphabet had been scheduled for two shows, which were cancelled due to the pandemic.
